PA Man Intentionally Crashes Into Pole To Hurt Passenger: Police

A Pennsylvania man intentionally drove into multiple traffic poles in a crash on Feb. 4, the police say.

Shailesh Khanal, 28, of Lancaster, was in an argument with the passenger in his car when he intentionally drove into a traffic pole at the intersection of North President and Columbia avenues around 3:24 a.m., according to the Manheim Township Police Department.

After hitting one pole, he attempted to drive into a second pole, but the passenger was able to get the vehicle into “park” and escape, the police wrote in a release.

“Khanal then intentionally drove into the second traffic pole and speed limit sign,” as stated in a release by the police.

He was charged with Recklessly Endangering Another Person and a Summary Charge, according to the police.

Khanal was taken into custody and held in the Lancaster County Prison for arraignment.
